Weather Notifications via Pushover

May 6, 2026 - FWD Messaging Group Discontinued

Pushover lowered messaging limits has forced us to discontinue the FWD 46 county messaging group. We sent more than 10,000 messages to the FWD group in April. If you are subscribed to the FWD Pushover message group, please login to Pushover and unsubscribe. Then use the form below to subscribe to select geographic (COG) message groups. Moving FWD CWA subscriptions to specific geographic regions will reduce the total number of messages sent by our account. The FWD message group will be deleted soon.

To ensure the continued reliability of our weather alerts, we have recently added a new server to our delivery network. To complete this transition, all users must manually move their subscription to the new system. Please follow the two-step process below to stay connected.

Step 1: Unsubscribe from the Old Service

  1. Log in to your Pushover Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the Subscriptions section.
  3. Locate the WX5FWD application, click Edit or Unsubscribe, and confirm by clicking Unsubscribe.
  4. Important: Before leaving, copy your User Key (a 30-character alphanumeric code). You will need this for the next step.

Step 2: Re-subscribe to the New Server

  1. Come back to this page, wx5fwd.org/Pushover.
  2. Fill out the form, shown below, selecting your desired channel, enter your User Key, along with your name and affiliation.
  3. Submit the form to reactivate your alerts

Managing your Subscription

While you can stop notifications by deleting the Pushover app, using the form below is the preferred method for managing or removing specific WX5FWD alert channels.

Weather notifications are available from our Weather Message Server by way of the Pushover App. Notifications are available for the geographic areas that are based on the Council of Government (COG) Regions.

You can use either the Pushover phone app or a web browser to receive notifications. The app is available from both the Apple Store and the Google Play Store. Both the app and web browser versions are configured by subscribing to a topic via the link buttons below.

What notifications will you be receiving?

  • Area Forecast Discussion (AFD) – is a product from the local NWS office, for the media and emergency management. This product contains Key Messages regarding the weather for both
  • the short- and long-term period (today and the next 5-7 days).
  • Severe Weather Warnings – includes warnings issued for Flash Flooding, Severe Thunderstorms, and Tornado Warnings.
  • Winter Weather Notifications – includes watches, warnings, and advisories issued for Blizzards, Blowing Snow, Freezing Rain, Heavy Snow, Ice Storms, Lake Effect Snow, Lake Effect Blowing Snow, Sleet, Snow, Snow and Blowing Snow, Wind Chill, Winter Storm, and Winter Weather.
  • Space Weather - alerts, watches, and warnings are available under the NOAA-SPACE topic.
  • Note: Subscriptions from this form will NOT appear in your Pushover subscriptions dashboard. WX5FWD Pushover group subscriptions will be managed via this form in the future. We urge Pushover dashboard subscribers to unsubscribe on the Pushover dashboard, and re-subscribe subscriptions using this form.

SMS text messages and email are not supported.

Due to the cost and delivery issues, we do not offer notifications over SMS text messaging or email. Only the Pushover application is supported.
